Meggison, John
Born in the 1880’s in Massachusetts, one of his early childhood memories was attending the funeral of the noted poet, John Greenleaf Whittier. Poetry remained one of the abiding passions of his life. A graduate in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he laid aside his career for a time, becoming involved in the truth, first as a pilgrim, and then as a colporteur, serving in Nova Scotia with Bro. Norman Woodworth. He often recalled his first public talk while he was only a deacon in his early twenties.
